Clay County rape suspect arrested after running from deputies
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said late Sunday afternoon that a rape suspect who ran from deputies earlier in the day had been arrested.
A tip from a passerby about 5:15 p.m. Sunday led deputies to David W. Busick near Northeast 144th Street and Old Quarry Road, the sheriff’s office reported.
Busick, 32, was spotted earlier Sunday afternoon at Tryst Falls Park near Missouri 92 and RA Highway, but ran from deputies.
Officials said he was wanted on a Clay County warrant for statutory rape.
After Busick ran from deputies, a large disturbance occurred involving about 150 people at a picnic, including members of his family, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies dispersed the crowd. There were no injuries and no arrests.
