Police search for man who used assault rifle to rob Grandview businesses in July

Authorities are looking for a man who used an assault rifle to rob a pair of Grandview businesses in July.

Police released surveillance photos of the man Tuesday.

According to police, the businesses were robbed overnight July 11.

The first robbery was reported at a fast food restaurant in the 12000 block of Blue Ridge and the second was at a convenience store in the 6500 block of Main Street.

Police said an African-American male displayed an AR- or AK-style assault rifle during both robberies and demanded money from the businesses.

During one of the robberies the man fired multiple rounds inside the business but no one was injured.

Police are investigating if both robberies are connected.
