Police in Prairie Village are looking for a man suspected of taking a purse from a woman and knocking her to the ground in a shopping center’s parking lot.

The strong-armed robbery was reported about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Bag and Baggage, a luggage store at The Village shopping center in Prairie Village.

The woman told police a man had forcefully taken her purse from her and knocked her to the ground in the parking lot. The man, police said, fled northbound on foot and got into a red car parked in the parking lot.

The car was last seen traveling northbound on Tomahawk Road towards Mission Road. The victim sustained minor injuries which did not require medical treatment, police said.

Police described the suspect as a white male in his 20s between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 with a thin build, clean shaven and long curly blonde hair. He was wearing an unknown color short sleeve shirt and khaki shorts.
