Prison ordered for Kansas City man who brought 3-year-old to armed drug deal
A Kansas City man was sentenced Wednesday to nine years and two months in prison for carrying a gun during a drug deal with a 3-year-old child in his car.
Chavierre R. Walker, 26, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas City where he pleaded guilty earlier this year to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime.
According to court documents, Walker met with an undercover police detective in Midtown Kansas City last August to sell cocaine.
While conducting the deal, Walker held a 9mm handgun in his lap while sitting in a car. The child and a woman were in the vehicle during the deal.
