Police were investigating reports of the second shooting in as many days on U.S. 71 in Kansas City.

The shooting was reported about 9:40 p.m Tuesday at the Cloverleaf Apartments in the 14500 block of South U.S. 71, but police were unable to locate a victim, according to authorities.

The area is near 145th Street and U.S. 71.

Police responding to a car wreck early Monday found a man dead inside with gunshots wounds.

The incident occurred on the southbound side of U.S. 71 at Meyer Blvd. The victim, a black male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
