Homicide investigation underway after police discover body in Northeast KC

Police in Kansas City were investigating the city’s latest homicide after the discovery of a dead body Wednesday afternoon.

Police in Kansas City were investigating the city’s latest homicide after the discovery of a body Wednesday afternoon.

Officers found the body of a man about 4:40 p.m. near Cliff Drive and North Elmwood Avenue in Northeast Kansas City.

The victim, police said, was found in grass with no signs of life.

Police did not release a description of a suspect.

The homicide is the 91st in Kansas City in 2017. There were 69 homicides at this time a year ago.
