KCK man charged after child porn allegedly found on work cellphone
A 39-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man is facing federal charges after his former employer found child pornography on his work-issued cellphone.
Ronny Peters is charged in U.S. District Court with production and possession of child pornography.
The FBI was contacted last week by managers at an Arkansas locksmith company who reported that they had discovered what they believed to be child pornography in an email account on a company phone, according to court documents.
The phone had been used by Peters before he was fired earlier in July, according to the documents.
Peters was arrested Friday and made an initial court appearance. A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday to determine if he should remain in custody while the case is pending.
