Man charged with shooting child during fight with another adult in Lenexa hotel
A Topeka man who allegedly fired a shot that wounded a 5-year-old at a Lenexa hotel was charged Wednesday with attempted murder.
Antwaun Nelson Fulton, 35, was charged Wednesday in Johnson County County District Court with criminal discharge of a firearm and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning at Crossland Economy Studios in the 9700 block of Lenexa Drive.
Lenexa police said the child was injured during an altercation between adults. The child was expected to make a full recovery, according to Lenexa police.
A suspect fled after the shooting before police arrived.
Fulton was arrested later in Topeka and booked into the Johnson County Jail.
His bond is set at $500,000.
