Brothers convicted in home invasion
Two brothers who were involved in a violent home invasion in September last year have been convicted of multiple felonies.
Convicted murderer Joshua L. Fields, 30, and Jonathan L. Fields, 31, were co-defendants with Marlyn L. Standifer, who was convicted last month. A fourth man, Theodore Watkins, awaits trial.
According to court records, all four were involved in an attempted robbery at a house in the 7100 block of East 111th Terrace in Kansas City in which one man was shot four times and six other people, including a woman and her four children, were terrorized.
Jonathan Fields, who drove a getaway van during a high-speed pursuit by police that ended in a ravine, was found guilty by a jury late Thursday of attempted first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Joshua Fields was found guilty last week of those counts plus first-degree burglary and kidnapping.
