Seven years in prison for death threats to judges in Kansas City
A man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison for mailing death threats to three federal judges in Kansas City.
Bruce DeWayne Jensen, 40, of Kansas City mailed the letters from a federal penitentiary in Indiana where he was serving time for making similar threats.
Jensen pleaded guilty in March to making the threats.
It was at least the fourth time since 2004 that Jensen has been convicted of making similar threats, according to federal court records.
He also was previously prosecuted in Oregon for threatening the president of the United States.
In the case he was sentenced for Thursday, Jensen mailed two letters in 2014 and another in 2016.
“When I get out of jail I’m going to kill your whole family then kill you as well,” he wrote in the 2016 letter. “This is because of all the convicts you sent to prison.”
In one of the other letters, he told the judge, “Enjoy what little life you got left before I get out.”
