A man was assaulted with a sword early Monday morning in Raytown, police said, and taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Raytown police responded to a disturbance call at 4 a.m. in the 7400 block of Overton Avenue. They found a man with injuries from a sword. Emergency services transported the man to a hospital, where he was treated.

His alleged assailant was arrested later by police officers.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
