North Kansas City man accused of molesting baby girl

A 26-year-old North Kansas City man has been charged with molesting a one-year-old girl he was babysitting.

Jayson Newlun is charged in Clay County Circuit Court with first-degree statutory sodomy. A judge set his bond at $250,000.

The girl’s parents called Kansas City police Friday after returning to their Kansas City, North, residence and finding Newlun allegedly fondling the baby, according to court documents.

The girl’s father tackled Newlun and held him until police arrived, according to the documents.
