Independence police looking for package thief

Independence police have asked for public help identifying an apparent package thief.

Surveillance footage showed a white man in his 20s with a large star tattoo on his right bicep taking packages off another person’s porch.

The theft occurred in the 2400 block of South Sterling Avenue on June 19.

The department asked anyone who can identify the man to call the TIPS hotline 816-474-TIPS (8477), or Independence Police Department Tips at 816-325-7777 or email leads@indepmo.org.
