Man charged with firing shots into Overland Park residence

A 24-year-old man is charged with firing shots into an occupied Overland Park house last month.

Andrew Michael Weldon Esparza, of Kansas City, Kan., is charged in Johnson County District Court with a felony charge of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

His bond is set at $100,000.

The shooting incident occurred May 4 in the 9100 block of West 87th Terrace, according to court documents. No one was injured.

Esparza was arrested on the charge Thursday afternoon after he appeared in court on a pending drug possession case.
