Police search for man after woman is carjacked in church parking lot in Raytown

Police were looking for a man after a woman was robbed of her car and purse at gunpoint in a church lot in Raytown.

According to police, officers were called to a church parking lot in the 9500 block of East 59th Street about 7:50 p.m. Monday regarding a woman who had been carjacked at gunpoint.

The woman told officers she was confronted by a man who produced a gun and demanded the her purse and gold Buick Rendezvous.

The man, police said, left the lot in the Buick westbound on 59th Street while in possession of the purse.

The carjacker was described as a white male, about 30 years old, bald and with no facial hair. He may have had a scar on his face, police said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The woman was not injured.
