A strong-arm robbery was reported in the parking lot of a Leawood bank after a brief struggle Tuesday morning.

According to police, a person was accosted about 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Country Club Bank in the 11100 block of Overbrook Road after completing a business transaction at another bank.

The victim was confronted at his vehicle door by the robber, who demanded a bank bag the victim was carrying.

After a short struggle, the robber was able to wrestle the bank bag away before fleeing in a white, newer SUV.

According to police, the vehicle was last seen going southbound on State Line Road from the scene.

The victim was not injured, police said.

The robber was described as a black male in his 20s-30s with short hair and a goatee. He was wearing a white T-shirt. Police only had a vague description of the driver of the SUV.

A possible suspect vehicle was later seen in Kansas City, but it fled from officers before the occupants could be identified.

Investigators believe the victim was followed from the first bank.
