Shooting in Kansas City leads to police standoff
A shooting investigation early Sunday morning in Kansas City led to a police standoff at an apartment in the 5800 block of Northeast Terrace Street.
Officers were called to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they learned a person of interest in the shooting was in a nearby apartment.
Police attempted to communicate with a person in the apartment but could not, and a standoff ensued for nearly two hours.
Shortly before 4 a.m., the person left the apartment without incident.
The victim in the reported shooting had injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
