Investigators did not expect any charges to be filed Saturday in a woman’s killing Friday in rural Jackson County.
Jackson County sheriff’s deputies dispatched on a reported shooting about 6:30 a.m. Friday and found a woman in her late 20s or early 30s dead inside an abandoned farm house along Buckner Tarsney Road near U.S. 50. The scene is near Blue and Gray Park and west of Lone Jack in southeast Jackson County.
Investigators interviewed two persons of interest and recovered a vehicle that may have been at the scene, Sheriff Mike Sharp said.
Detectives were continuing to follow leads on Saturday, Sharp said.
