Man pleads to manslaughter in Leavenworth shooting death
A Leavenworth County man pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and drug charges Friday in a December 2013 shooting death. Jeffery Allen Sifford, 49, was found lying in the snow with a shotgun outside a travel trailer in the 19000 block of Springdale Road, west of Leavenworth. Richard Luse, 58, was wounded inside the trailer and later died at a hospital. Sifford was initially charged with second-degree murder.
