Man in custody after standoff at home north of Missouri River

A man believed to be armed was arrested after he barricaded himself inside a home north of the Missouri River on Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City.

Police were called shortly after 3 p.m. to the 6200 block of North Pennsylvania after reports of an armed person.

Tactical officers were deployed about an hour later after the man refused to exit a residence.

The man surrendered about 5:20 p.m.
