Police are asking for help identifying a man who used a case of beer last month to assault a person at a QuikTrip in Independence.

Independence police released surveillance photos of the man in the hope that someone would recognize attacker and call police.

The aggravated assault took place about 9:50 p.m. Aug. 23 at the QuikTrip at 17815 E. 39th St.

The man struck the victim in the head with a case of beer and then followed the victim through the store, punching him in the head and face.

The man then left in a newer model Chrysler 300 driven by a woman.

Anyone with information about the aggravated assault is asked to call the case detective at 816-325-7337 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
