Raymore-Peculiar High School security guard charged with sodomy
A security guard at Raymore-Peculiar High School has been charged in Cass County Circuit Court with two counts of statutory sodomy for alleged actions with a 16-year-old student.
During questioning, James Saltkill, 25, of Harrisonville, told investigators that he was attracted to the girl and was “courting her.”
According to court documents, on one occasion Saltkill and his girlfriend picked up the student from school and took her to his house.
Three incidents took place Feb. 17 and Feb. 28, the documents allege.
School district spokeswoman Michelle Stidham said none of the alleged incidents took place on school property. She said Saltkill was an employee with Command Security, which provides security officers at two of the district’s school buildings.
Saltkill is being held on $50,000 bond. The proposed conditions of his release require that he have no contact with the victim or her family or any minor under 17. He also is prohibited from entering any properties owned by the Raymore-Peculiar School District.
