Leads sought in the case of woman found dead in Kansas City well
Kansas City police on Friday released casino surveillance photos of a woman later found dead in a city-owned well.
Police said the investigation is continuing into how 27-year-old Janina Vasquez died in February. They are seeking information about her whereabouts between Feb. 11, when she was last seen by her family in Overland Park, and Feb. 19, when her body was found in Berkley Riverfront Park.
The photos released Friday were taken the night of Feb. 12 at the Isle of Capri Casino.
Police believe she left the casino about 7:40 p.m. in a red car driven by an unidentified person. Detectives want to speak with that person or anyone who saw Vasquez getting into the car.
She was wearing a hooded jacket, gray sweatpants and burgundy boots.
