Two women are injured when shots are fired into a Kansas City house
Two women were injured when someone fired multiple shots into a house in south central Kansas City late Monday night.
Gunfire struck a second house nearby several minutes later, but no one was injured.
In the first incident, two women and two toddlers were watching TV in a house in the 3200 block of East 68th Terrace when someone fired shots into the residence about 10:15 p.m. Monday, according to Kansas City police.
A bullet hit one woman in the upper arm. Shrapnel hit the second woman in the arm and back. The children were not injured.
Police found multiple shell casings in the street and also found shell casings inside the house and evidence that shots also had been fired from inside.
A few minutes later and about a mile away, two residents of a house in the 6100 block of Agnes Avenue reported hearing multiple shots fired into the house. Neither person was injured.
Both incidents are under investigation.
