Police arrested a man who they tracked in a stolen pickup truck as he drove through neighborhoods in Kansas City, Leawood and Grandview for as long as an hour.

At one point at an apartment complex in Kansas City, he fled his truck and carjacked another white pickup truck, leaving the driver standing in disbelief.

A camera from a KCTV5 helicopter broadcast the driver as he wove through neighborhoods north of 135th Street in Leawood to east in the westbound lanes of 135th Street to Kansas City. He turned onto Missouri 150 and then drove the wrong way on U.S. 71 before leaving the highway.

After police threw down spike sticks, his tires eventually deflated.

He tried to continue but was surrounded by police. He got out of the truck with his hands on his head and lay down in the snow with his hands behind his back. Police handcuffed him and took him into custody.
