A Kansas City man convicted of rape and child molestation was sentenced to 75 years in prison for his crimes.

A Jackson County judge sentenced James Canada, 47, on Wednesday.

Canada was convicted in November on four counts of statutory sodomy, two counts of statutory rape, two counts of child molestation and six counts of incest.

The crimes involved three child victims.

According to court records, the incidents first happened in 2009 and continued into last year. One victim said Canada threatened to kill one of the girls if she told anyone about the abuse, according to court records. Two of the victims said they were 8 years old when the abuse started.
