Lenexa man admits child exploitation
A 24-year-old Lenexa man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to attempting to entice a minor over the Internet for prostitution.
John J. McCarthy communicated online with a woman about having sex with her 12- and 16-year-old daughters. In July 2013 he traveled to Missouri and paid $60 to have sex with the younger girl. The woman was an undercover detective and McCarthy was arrested. The mandatory minimum sentence is 10 years, without parole.
