Jackson County sheriff’s deputies want to talk to a man investigators believe may have been involved in a robbery and assault against an elderly man who died nearly two weeks after the crime.

The Jackson County sheriff’s office said the robbery and assault occurred Nov. 27 near Pleasant Hill in the area of Missouri 7 and County Line Road in unincorporated southeast Jackson County.

The victim died Dec. 8 of injuries sustained in the assault, authorities said.

The man Jackson County authorities want to question is described as white, possibly in his early 20s, wearing a camouflage cap, a multicolored flannel shirt, black pants and tennis shoes. He was seen entering a white Kia Sorento near the scene at the time of the incident.

The Sorento has notable damage to it, including red transfer paint on the driver’s side door, authorities said.

Anyone with information on the man in the photos is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 816-541-8017 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (816-474-8477).
