Woman critically injured in KC shooting

A female suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting early Tuesday morning in east Kansas City.

Kansas City police said they were called to the 10400 block of East 39th Terrace about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday and found the victim. She had been shot in the head, and was taken to a hospital.

Police said a male was detained at the scene and was being questioned.

Additional details were not immediately available.
