Manslaughter charge filed in traffic crash death of KCK woman
A Kansas City, Kan., man has been charged in the August traffic crash death of a 66-year-old woman.
David Wayne Colvin, 45, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Janet Eimer of Kansas City, Kan.
Shawnee police arrested Colvin early Monday morning and booked him into the Johnson County jail on the Wyandotte County charge.
The crash occurred Aug. 16 at Kansas Avenue and 18th Street Expressway in Kansas City, Kan.
Officials at the time said that the wreck occurred after a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper tried to stop a driver for a traffic infraction. That driver refused to stop and allegedly ran a red light, striking Eimer’s vehicle.
Colvin was arrested after the wreck on an unrelated aggravated assault charge, according to court records.
His bond in the manslaughter case is set at $200,000.
