Kansas City man shot in buttocks in an apparent drive-by shooting

A man told Kansas City police he was wounded in the buttocks late Monday by a gunman who fired at least nine times at him from a moving car.

Officers responded to the incident about 11:30 p.m. The victim was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. He told officers that the shooting happened in the 11700 block Blue Ridge Boulevard. The gunman appeared to be a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling on Blue Ridge Boulevard and Longview Road.

After the shooting, the victim said he drove near his residence, where he was picked up and taken to the hospital by family members.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Police did not have a detailed description of the gunman.
