Man waving a gun and firing shots in KCK leads to standoff with police
A man who was waving a gun and fired shots in the 900 block of south 55th Street in Kansas City, Kan., early Tuesday has been taken into custody.
Shortly before 4 a.m., police responded to a report that a man was waving a handgun in the street, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.
The man at first refused to put down his gun and fired shots in the air and in the direction of officers. Officers took cover and talked to the suspect for almost an hour. The suspect then put down his weapon and surrendered to police.
The incident remains under investigation by the police department.
