KCK police investigate kidnapping after woman hands bank teller note saying she’s a hostage
Kansas City, Kan., police arrested five people in connection with an alleged kidnapping Monday after a woman gave a bank teller a note saying she was being held against her will.
Police were called to Bank Midwest at 7804 State Avenue about 5 p.m. Monday after the woman gave the note to a teller and bank employees called police.
Officers arrived and took a man into custody, according to police.
The woman told police four other people were holding her boyfriend hostage in a house in the 2000 block of North First Street. When police arrived at that house, a short standoff ensued before four suspects came out and were arrested.
Police said the suspects were armed with handguns. The two victims suffered minor injuries.
