A Kansas City, Kan., woman was charged Wednesday with setting fires inside grocery stores to escape with shoplifted food.

Tahmekah D. Henson, 40, was charged in federal court in Kansas City, Kan., with three counts of arson.

She allegedly set fires in three Kansas City, Kan., grocery stores on Nov. 5.

Court documents say there were customers and employees present in each incident.

The fires created a distraction so Henson could escape unnoticed with shoplifted meat, the charges say.
