Man charged with pulling gun during Lenexa road rage confrontation

A 62-year-old Johnson County man was charged Wednesday with menacing four people with a gun during a road rage incident in Lenexa.

Mark S. Ross of Spring Hill is charged in Johnson County District Court with a felony count of aggravated assault.

Lenexa police said the incident began about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday as Ross drove south on Interstate 35 at 87th Street.

Ross allegedly would not let another vehicle merge into traffic, and the occupants of that vehicle responded with obscene gestures.

Both vehicles continued southbound. Near 95th Street, Ross said he felt threatened and pulled out a 9mm handgun, according to police.

The occupants of the other car called 911 and Ross was stopped by police in Gardner.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.
