Pedestrian tells police he was shot while walking in KC neighborhood

Kansas City police are investigating an incident early Monday in which a pedestrian said he was shot by someone inside of a vehicle near 37th Street and Prospect Avenue.

The victim told police he was walking in the area about 3 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up next to him and someone inside began firing gunshots at him. The vehicle sped away in an unknown direction. After being shot, the victim said he walked to 39th Street and Prospect Avenue where a passerby called police.

Investigators did not have a detailed description of the shooter or the vehicle they were driving.

The victim’s condition was not available.
