Tiffany Wilson has lived in the 7500 block of East 100th Terrace in Kansas City for 13 years. She describes the area as quiet, and a place where residents often feel an overwhelming sense of security.
So when Wilson entered the south Kansas City neighborhood a little after 4:30 p.m. Saturday and saw yellow crime scene tape she knew that something was amiss.
Homicide detectives were in the area investigating a quadruple shooting that left one dead.
The domestic-related shooting also sent two victims to the hospital with serious injuries and another victim was grazed by a bullet. It happened about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 7600 block of East 100th Street.
The area is near Blue Ridge Boulevard and Interstate 470.
A disturbance inside the home led to the shooting, police said.
The incident occurred one block from the home Wilson shares with her family.
“It’s an extremely quiet neighborhood,” Wilson said. “There’s been numerous times where we’ve accidentally forgot to lock doors or garages, and you always come back and everything is there. It’s a great neighborhood.”
A police spokeswoman said investigators are not looking for anyone outside of the home in connection with the shooting.
Detectives continue to look into the case to determine a cause, she said.
