An alert went out Thursday afternoon at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley after a student reported that she was physically assaulted by a man.

The alleged attack occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday inside the campus’s Science and Technology building. A campuswide alert went out at 1:02 p.m., according to a campus spokeswoman.

The student told campus police that a dark-complected black male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 and with a thin build grabbed her by the neck and attempted to drag her into the men’s restroom.

The man, police said, was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black and green Air Jordan tennis shoes.
