Mission police are seeking the public’s help to find a woman seen on surveillance video taking a package left outside a home.

Police said the incident occurred Tuesday in the 6400 block of Woodson Drive.

They released still images from the video showing the woman and the SUV police say are involved in the theft.

Anyone who can help identify the woman is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 or Mission police at 913-676-8300.

With the approaching holiday season, police suggested some precautions people can take to help prevent such thefts:

▪ Have packages delivered to the workplace if allowed by the employer.

▪ Require a signature for deliveries. Packages won’t be left on your doorstep if no one is there to sign for it.

▪ Check with delivery companies to find out what services they offer that could help avoid a package theft.
