KC man guilty of sodomy, incest and rape of 3 girls younger than 12

A 47-year-old Kansas City man has been found guilty of 14 counts of sodomy, rape, child molestation and incest involving three girls younger than 12 years old.

A Jackson County jury returned the guilty verdicts Thursday against James Canada Jr., who was charged last November.

According to court records, the incidents first happened in 2009 and continued into last year. One victim said Canada threatened to kill one of the girls if she told anyone about the abuse, according to court records. Two of the victims said they were 8 years old when the abuse started.

Canada was convicted on four counts of statutory sodomy, two counts of statutory rape, two counts of child molestation and six counts of incest.

Canada is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 14.
