Charge filed in Overland Park stabbing

An Overland Park man who allegedly stabbed another man and was then hit by a vehicle driven by the victim was charged Wednesday with aggravated battery.

Walter Luis Aguirre, 30, was charged in Johnson County District Court in connection with the early Monday incident in the 9000 block of Metcalf Avenue.

According to Overland Park police, after the victim was stabbed, he got into a GMC Yukon and struck Aguirre before fleeing the area. Aguirre was taken to a hospital for treatment before being booked into the Johnson County Jail. His bond is set at $50,000.

The extent of the stabbing victim’s injuries was not available Wednesday.
