Man hospitalized after police shot him during a domestic violence call
A man is hospitalized with serious injuries after police officers responding to a domestic violence call shot him.
According to a police news release, the man — believed to be in his late 20s — moved toward officers with a “sharp object” in his hand as they demanded he stop and drop the weapon. After reportedly refusing to do so, police fired shots.
The man received at least one gunshot wound, the release said. Officers were not injured.
Police were called to the location in the 400 block of Main Street at 10:15 p.m. Friday regarding a “man beating on a woman.” When officers arrived, they found the man and a woman standing in the parking lot.
More information will be released as the investigation progresses.
