A 28-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man has been charged with selling methamphetamine and illegally possessing multiple firearms.

Eric Castillo was arrested Tuesday and is now charged in federal court with possessing and distributing methamphetamine and being an illegal immigrant in possession of firearms.

Beginning in June, federal agents set up a series of undercover purchases of methamphetamine from Castillo, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan.

During some of those meetings, Castillo also allegedly sold half a dozen handguns and an assault-style rifle, according to the documents.

After his arrest, he reportedly told investigators that he purchased weapons at gun shows and sold them to friends. Castillo also told them he was in the country illegally, the documents say.

Officials said they recovered two other handguns in a search of his residence after his arrest.
