Bicyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run accident near Eighth and Beacon in KC
A bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Saturday afternoon in Kansas City.
The accident happened about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Eighth Street and Beacon Avenue.
Police officials said a black 2005 or 2006 Ford 500 or Taurus was northbound on Beacon when a bicyclist riding westbound on Eighth Street ran a stop sign and struck the vehicle.
The impact of the collision threw the bicyclist into the car’s windshield, police said.
The vehicle was last seen northbound on Beacon.
Police said the man on the bike was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
