A man being sought in connection to a homicide in Santa Cruz, Calif., has been arrested by Kansas City police.

Kasey Gaskell was arrested early Friday morning at a Kansas City homeless shelter, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department.

The arrest came hours after Santa Cruz police sent out information about Gaskell to media in the Kansas City area. A tipster who saw Gaskell’s picture called Kansas City police and reported he was at the shelter.

Gaskell, 43, of Santa Cruz, was wanted in connection with a Sept. 26 killing in that city.

Santa Cruz police said they sent the notice because they believed Gaskell was in the Kansas City area and was possibly heading to Wisconsin.
