A man charged in the Sunday night road rage killing of an Independence woman will not fight extradition from South Dakota.

Christopher P. Taylor appeared before a judge Wednesday afternoon and waived his right to fight extradition to Missouri.

Taylor, 39, of Independence, was charged Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Whitney Gray.

Gray was shot while driving in the area of Winner Road and Sterling Avenue. A teenager and two small children in her minivan were not injured.

Taylor was arrested early Tuesday at a motel in Pennington County, S.D., after investigators used a GPS tracking device to locate his vehicle.

It was not known Wednesday how soon he will be returned to Jackson County.
