Kansas City police are looking for a man who fired a gunshot Thursday at an officer in the 5500 block of Cambridge Avenue.

The incident happened just after 8 a.m. when a man walked out of a home and fired a shot at the officer who was driving in an unmarked squad car. The officer, who was in the area following an investigation, was not hurt.

Additional officers were immediately summoned to the area to search for the gunman. Officers positioned themselves outside of a home where they believed the gunman might be hiding.
