Blue Springs man pleads guilty to producing child pornography after getting caught on ‘nannycam’
A Blue Springs man caught on a “nannycam” sexually abusing a child pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to producing child pornography.
Jeffrey Laurence Treta, 47, was babysitting a toddler in January 2013 when one of the parental surveillance cameras recorded images of him assaulting the child and using his cell phone to record the episode.
The homeowner later noticed the recording and turned it over to investigators.
In addition to two counts of producing child porn, two counts of producing child obscenity and one count of possessing child porn, Treta also pleaded guilty to one county of obstructing justice for deleting images from his laptop minutes before police arrived.
