Brandon Lee McReynolds of Olathe is accused of trying to kidnap a woman Monday morning from a Merriam business in the 9400 block of West 55th Street. His bond was set at $50,000.

Prosecutors on Thursday charged a 24-year-old man with trying to kidnap a woman from a Merriam business earlier this week.

Brandon Lee McReynolds of Olathe was arrested Tuesday after police released surveillance camera images from the Monday incident to the public.

Johnson County prosecutors charged McReynolds with a felony count of attempted kidnapping. His bond was set at $50,000.

According to Merriam police, the woman was working Monday morning at a business in the 9400 block of West 55th Street when a man who initially came in to ask about a job moved a surveillance camera and then demanded several times that she leave with him.

The man fled after he heard approaching footsteps. The woman was not physically injured, police said.

McReynolds was arrested Tuesday at a home in Olathe. He appeared in court on the charge Thursday and requested a public defender.
