Man sought after woman is injured in Blue Springs shooting

Police are looking to question a man after a woman was wounded in a shooting in Blue Springs early Thursday.

Police said they are looking to talk to Jose F. Hernandez, 35, about the shooting that occurred about 2:15 a.m. in the 3000 block of Southeast Sixth Street.

Police responding to reports of shots being fired found a woman in her early 20s with apparent gunshot wounds nearby in the 500 block of Southeast Silver Lane. She was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Police described Hernandez as Hispanic, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos. Police released photos of him.

Hernandez was last seen in a 2007 maroon Toyota Corolla with a cracked front windshield. The car has a Missouri license plate KJ8-HOP.

Hernandez is known to be armed, police said.
